If you're convinced that he is alive despite the news and a no longer beating heart, I think you're mistaken. We can know that He has not departed truly, like all Christians are never truly departed, we're all one in the body of Christ and death makes no difference, because He is Lord over death, and it can no longer separate us, from God or each other.
